Taken from the shotgun seat of a rental van travelling roughly 65-70 MPH on a highway somewhere in virginia. Because this was taken during the roadtrip to florida i was on in january of '04 when i still had my crappy camera, this picture does really capture all the beautiful colors of the sunset thats shown here. if i had the good camera on that roadtrip, i wouldve gotten alot better and alot more pictures. hey, atleast i'll have the good camera during the roadtrip to new orleans next year.
i named this picture highway to hell for two reasons. one being that at this point in the roadtrip, i was exceptionally miserable and the stress was really getting to me. the second was later that night while travelling through pennsylvania we hit a really bad blizzard and there were accidents every 20 feet. there were sheer cliffs and and drop offs everywhere and even the plow trucks had trouble.
wow, that sucks, I love my state... and that sky... great shot. Were you on interstate 81 by chance? coming from flordia, thats what I'd guess... you prob rolled right by me. lol, my house is like right off the highway, I'd like to actually meet another deviant randomly one day. Ah whatever.
Great shot, keep it up

thankyou for the praise! i dont remember what interstate we were on. i dont know which one is the quickest route from vermont to florida but i know we did take a slightly roundabout way because i didnt want to go through DC or maryland. i can check later.
and you do live in a beautiful state. i gotta go through there again sometime now that i have a good camera.
yea, I'd like to upgrade to a 5.0 meg camerea sometime... sometimes a 3.2 just doesn't cut it... like some of my sunsets are pixalated because of that. *sigh* what can ya do tho, lol
And you're welcome

ive only really had one or two chances to get the pretty sunsets with my new camera but it seems to do a good job capturing the colors. i forget how many megapixels it is but i think that on photos taken with it, there are specs that somehow get on deviantART.
yea, in the photo datat the camera data is in there somewhere. 3.2 is good for most purposes, but for natural scenes, it doesn't cut it... the grand canyon would at least take a 5.0 or better for a decently captured pic...

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This is YOUR opportunity to mock, ridicule and generally take great delight and amusement whilst poking fun at the beloved Volunteers and Staff of deviantART.
